Gizela D. Bogatek, 86 Poland…Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Wasko Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. Joseph the Provider Catholic Church, for Gizela D. Bogatek, 86, who passed away Wednesday. Gizela was born July 6, 1928, in Tajkury Wotyn, Poland, the daughter of Jozef and Zofia Baron Dychton. She married her husband, Jan, on June 4, 1949 and they immigrated to the United States in 1951, settling in Campbell, Struthers and then Poland. Gizela was a member of St. Joseph the Provider Catholic Church and its' Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a former member of the Polish Church Choir, a member of the Polish National Alliance, serving since 1952; and served as President of Lodge 965 for 25 years. Gizela was District President for Ladies' Auxiliary of District 9 P.A.V.A. Post 4, and also former President of Council 46 P.N.A. Her husband, Jan, passed away November 28, 2012. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Victor Eck of New Middletown; a granddaughter, Dr. Heather Eck of Delaware, Ohio; a grandson, Karl (Carla) Eck of Hendersonville, Tenn., and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Jan, Gizela was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Irena S. Bogatek; two brothers, Albin and Zygmunt Dychton; and her sister, Izabella Batowski.
