George Horvath, 87
CAMPBELL – Private family services were held Monday, April 27, 2015, at the Wasko Funeral Home with the Rev. Michel Swierz officiating, for George Horvath, 87, who passed away April 17, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 17, 1927, in Campbell, the son of Jacob and Antoinette Dukovich Horvath.
George graduated from Campbell Memorial High School and later obtained a degree in Accounting, graduating from Youngstown State University in 1961.
He retired as a steelworker from Republic Steel.
George loved attending Campbell Memorial football games with his brother, Billy. He also enjoyed cheering on the Cleveland Indians.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church.
Family was very important to George and he most enjoyed attending family events, especially family picnics during the summer and holiday gatherings.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his brother, John Horvath; his nieces and nephews, Dolly (Mike) Mastronarde, Gloria (Barry) Merrell, Ken Horvath, Sharron (Frank Rich) Zook, Jim (Rosemarie) Horvath, Janice Robbins, David (Cindy) Horvath, and Charlotte (Dan) Stamp; several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and his special friend, Shrilda (Shirley) White.
George was preceded in death by his parents; his three sisters, Catherine, Ann and Millie Horvath; and his brothers, William Horvath and Steve Horvath.
The Horvath family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home.
