Obituary

BOARDMAN – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Parish with Father Philip E. Rogers officiating for Frank Joseph Mamrak Sr., 90, who passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014 at Hospice House surrounded by family. Frank was born in Youngstown, Ohio on June 7, 1923, the third son of the late Stephen and Katherine (Kristofchik) Mamrak. He was a graduate of Wilson High School and a member of the U. S. Army. He met his wife, Anne M. Dutia while working at Metal Carbides Corporation in Boardman, Ohio where he was employed from 1944 until his retirement in 1986. They were wed on May 25, 1946. He was a longtime member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish. Frank avidly played golf, a sport which he enjoyed most of his adult life. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers Stephen Mamrak and Thomas Mamrak and his sisters Eleanor Brajer and Dorothy Bradley. Frank is survived by his wife Anne to whom he was married for 67 years, his four children, Frank (Carol) Mamrak of Medina, Carol Aurandt of Boardman, Teresa (Richard) Giles of Youngstown and Judy of Columbiana. He had 11 grandchildren: Justin Mamrak, Autumn Mamrak, Brenda (Andrew) Thorpe, Brian (Amy) Aurandt, Richard Giles, Robert Giles, Michael Giles, Jesse Dew, Joshua Dew, Levi Dew and Caleb Dew and 5 great-grandchildren: Rowan Thorpe, Kendal Thorpe, Chandler Thorpe, 'Tori' Aurandt and 'Katie' Aurandt. The Mamrak family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Kubina Yuhasz Wasko Funeral Home was entrusted with Frank's arrangements. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, where military honors will be observed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Charles Borromeo Parish or Hospice of the Valley to honor his life.
