Youngstown: Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Wasko Funeral Home with Bob Busek officiating for Florencio Sanchez, 55, who passed away on Tuesday in Morgantown, W.Va.
Florencio was born Aug. 6, 1956, in Maunabo, Puerto Rico, the son of Ceferino Sanchez Sr. and Juana Ortiz.
He was a horse trainer at Mountaineer Race Track.
Florencio loved fishing, baseball, drawing and bowling. He was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan. He was once an amateur boxer.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Juana Bracero; his daughter, Mya Tillman; his son, Quincy Ward; 13 siblings, Andrea (Luis) Ortiz, Angel (Antia) Sanchez, Julia Calderon, Crescencia (Augustin) Collet, Andres (Terri) Sanchez, Isabel (Benny) Rosa, Angel Sanchez, Jose Sanchez, Jenny (John) Gaskewich, Roberto (Iris) Sanchez, Maria L. (Joe Muniz) Sanchez, Ceferino (Brenda) Sanchez and Juana (Santiago Solis) Sanchez; and many nieces and nephews.
Florencio was preceded in death by his father, Ceferino Sanchez Sr. and a brother, Juan Sanchez.
The Sanchez family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends on Sunday from 11:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
