Obituary

Campbell: The words of Thomas A. Edison best reflect my feeling at this time: ââ?¬Å?My mother was the making of me. She was so true and so sure of me, I felt that I had someone to live for-someone I must not disappoint. The memory of my mother will always be a blessing to me.쳌 Funeral services will be held 11am Saturday at the Wasko Funeral Home and 11:30am in Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church for Evangeline R. Orfanos, 95 who passed away peacefully Monday evening in her home. Evangeline was born May 5, 1915 in Kasos, Greece, the daughter of Vasili and Marigo Palatianos. On Sept. 26, 1932 she married Rossetos Orfanos. A daughter Mary was born in Greece and the family emigrated to the United States in 1939. A year later the family was completed with the birth of son George. Mrs. Orfanos was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker all of her life. She was a friend to all and always went out of her way to befriend and help others. She was a member of the Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church of which her late husband was one of the founding fathers. She was also a member of the Ladies Philoptochos Society. She leaves to cherish her memory her son George, who devoted his life to his family and more so to his beloved mother; a sister Virginia Economou and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. May her memory be eternal. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband who passed away in 1973 and her precious daughter Mary who passed away in 1980. The Orfanos family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends Friday evening from 5-8pm, with a 6pm prayer service and Saturday morning from 10-11am at the funeral home.
