Elias Nick "Louie" Maillis, 65

Poland...Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 11, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 220 North Walnut St. in Youngstown, for Elias Nick "Louie" Maillis, 65, who died unexpectedly on November 7, 2016.

Louie was born on October 10, 1951 in Youngstown, to Nick and Sylvia (Ginnis) Maillis.

Louie displayed his hard work ethic and passion to excel by going back to college to graduate in 1995 with Magna Cum Laude honors.

He worked as an inspector at KTA-Tator Inc, where he was loved and respected by his fellow employees.

Louie was a lifetime member of Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church in Campbell, where he was also a member of the Kalymnian Society.

He enjoyed watching his sons play GOYA basketball for their church and loved his family more than anything.  He enjoyed taking his family to breakfast on the weekends.  Louie took pride in rooting for the Cleveland Browns and the Indians with his sons.

He also loved fishing and hunting with his father and his brother George growing up.

He always had a smile on his face, especially while riding motorcycles with his wife Elizabeth, whom he loved and cherished with all that he had. He also was passionate about watching his sons Nick and Michael play baseball and participated in a fantasy baseball league with his son, Michael.  He enjoyed taking his son, George to his acting class.  Louie looked forward to spending quality time on vacation with his family every year.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Elizabeth, whom he married January 13, 1995; and his sons Robert (Dana), Nicholas, Michael, and George Maillis. He also leaves his brother and best friend, George (Sue) Maillis, his sisters, Anna Samonas, and Rena (Dave) VanSuch, and Uncle Phil (Patty) Ginnis whom was raised as a brother.  He also leaves his beloved nieces and nephews, along with his great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Sylvia Maillis, his mother-in-law Gayle Black, his Goddaughter Sylvia Maillis, and his cousin Nick Ginnis.

The Maillis family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and again Friday from 9 to 10:00 a.m. at the church.
