Elaine N. Vrabel, 80 CANFIELD – Elaine N. (Komarc) Vrabel, 80, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, Dec. 1, 2013, surrounded by her loving children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A single mother long before the term was defined, she leaves behind her children, Joseph of Lynn Haven, Fla., Lori (Patrick) Gobep, with whom she made her home in Canfield, Kathleen (James) Calabretta of Austintown, David (Cheryl) Vrabel of Boardman, and Janice Payne of Columbiana. She was the grandmother to Jennifer (Aaron) Meyers, Jason (Nicole) Shuto, Christine (Steve) Anzevino, Brent (Tracie) Vrabel, Michele (Justin) Mitulinski, Dana Payne, James Calabretta, Breanna Vrabel, Danielle Payne, Alexi (Rob) Felty, Jaymi Payne, Alaina Vrabel, Bradley Vrabel, Nicholas Calabretta, and Rachel Gobep and great-grandmother to Andrew Vrabel, Peyton and Parker Meyers, Easton, Colson, Hayli, Quenton and Xathon Shuto, Addison and Brady Mitulinski, Jada Nolasco and Ava Gardner. Elaine also leaves special family members, Noreen Perry, Arlene Clark, Shirley Serena, Sheila Sirbu, Linda Durastante, Todd, Jeseca, Tiffany and Cassidy Lindberg, Derek DeChellis, Andrea Gobep, Chad Kinkead, Theresa Sudebaker, and Barbara Burnside. A proud Campbell native, she was born on Nov. 11, 1933, recently celebrating her 80th birthday. Elaine graduated from Campbell Memorial High School in 1951, having been head majorette and homecoming queen. She was the only child of John E. and Dorothy G. (Novak) Komarc, who preceded her in death. A son, Dennis, also preceded her in death. The Youngstown Sheet & Tube Company was one of her proudest occupations as a Metallurgical Order Analyst. Other companies Elaine worked for included Aeroquip, Tamco Distributors, Ski Limited and Sunkiss Tanning. She had a unique smile that was often seen in a recognizable laugh and beautiful, loving blue eyes. She was a faithful woman, having belonged to St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Campbell. She believed in family first and worked tirelessly to provide a warm and loving home. Full of fun and good times, her Christmas Eve dinners, parties and presents were legendary. She enjoyed the Sunday family dinners, playing cards, going to the movies and dinner, trips to Mountaineer, and watching game shows. The family has entrusted her final arrangements to be handled by the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell. Calling hours will be held on Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m., where a prayer service will be held at 4:45 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at the funeral home, and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, concluding with a service at the Cemetery Chapel. The family would like to thank HMHP Hospice of the Valley for their loving care.
