Westlake…Prayers will begin Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Wasko Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. John Catholic Church for Dorothy E. Geewax, 85, formerly of Youngstown, who passed away early Thursday morning. Dorothy was born December 8, 1927, in Campbell, the daughter of Stephen and Maria Stas Sanetrik. Dorothy was a 1945 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School. Besides being a homemaker, Dorothy worked at General Electric and McCrory's prior to her marriage. Dorothy was a longtime member of the former St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Campbell. She enjoyed spending time with her family, working jigsaw puzzles, cooking, baking, and playing bingo and cards. Dorothy leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Frances and Richard H. Braun, and their children, Trevor (Kate) Braun and Marisa Braun, all of Bay Village. Her husband, Andrew T. Geewax, whom she married, November 16, 1957, passed away February 25, 2003. Besides her husband, Andrew, Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Joseph and Andrew Sanetrik; and her sisters, Mary Mihalko, Katherine DeAngelis and Anne Barry. Should friends desire monetary donations may be made to Hospice of Western Reserve in Dorothy's name. The Geewax family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends Monday from 6-8:00 p.m.
