Biography

Donn L. Candella, 52 Campbell…Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Wasko Funeral Home for Donn L. Candella, 52, who passed away early Friday morning at the Cleveland Clinic. Donn was born October 1, 1961, in Youngstown, the son of William and Donna Ditman Candella. He was a 1979 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and went on to further his education by training in the HVAC field. Donn worked as a manager at Bargain Port, was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers, Local No. 33 and worked in the maintenance department at Youngstown State University. He was a member of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. Joseph the Provider Catholic Church. Donn loved to harass everyone and make them smile. He was known for his delicious chili, wedding soup, Italian greens and sausage, peppers and onions. He could repair and build almost anything. His latest project was setting up Candella micro-distillery with his brothers. The biggest gleam in his eyes was when he looked at his children, who he deeply loved, fiercely protected, and was so very proud of. Donn loved hearing Anthony (age 15) playing the drums and Adrianna (age 10) would always put a smile on his face. But mostly just being home watching TV, or traveling as a family was his favorite thing to do. Ernie the cat was his trusty companion and Donn loved playing with him. He was deeply loved by his children and his devoted wife, Gloria McFall Candella, who he fully supported and encouraged while she pursued higher education and he was most proud of her accomplishments. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Gloria, whom he married October 15, 1994; his children, Anthony and Adriana, at home; his five brothers, Bill, Keith, Terry, Brian and Chris; his in-laws, Dave Brunswick and Joyce McFall; and a very large extended family. Donn was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Gerald. Donn's friends and family were a huge part of his life and they meant so very much to him. The Candella family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends Monday from 5-8:00 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, the Candella family is requesting any Monetary Contributions be made to the Anthony and Adriana Education Fund that the family is in the process of setting up for their future education.
