Obituary

Canfield: Donald Joseph Dambrogio, 72, went to be with our Lord at 9:30 pm on Friday, March 26, 2010, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was surrounded by his family at his home. Don was born on June, 25, 1937 in Campbell, the son of Joseph and Stella Szpyt Dambrogio. He graduated from Campbell Memorial High School, class of 1955, and studied engineering for two years at Youngstown College. He served in the 348th Division of the Army Reserves during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Don worked at Flintkote Manufacturing in Ravenna for 11 years, and retired from General Motors in 2006, where he was employed as a shift engineer for 30 years. Don was a member of St. Christine Parish and served on the Men?¢s Renewal Team. He was a member of the American Legion and the NRA. Don was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and riding his tractor on any sunny day. He enjoyed people and loved spending time with his family and many friends at the ââ?¬Å?Double D Ranch.쳌 Preceded in death by his father, Don will be deeply missed by his best friend and wife, Wanda ââ?¬Å?Jeanne쳌 Morris whom he married 52 years ago on June 21, 1958; his daughter, Kimberly A. (Nancy McGraw) of Cleveland; and his son, Donald Jr. (Jeanne); his beloved granddaughters, Lauren and Taylor; and his West Highland Terrier, Bobbi. He also leaves his mother; sister, Delores (Bob) Lysowski; brother, Dr. James (Jane); sisters-in-law, Carol Dambrogio and Dolores (Mike) Pizzuto; brother-in-law, Frank (Darlene) Morris; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Family and friends may call at Wasko Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 30th, 4 to 8 pm, and on Wednesday, March 31st, 9 to 10:15 am. The funeral mass will begin at 11 am, Wednesday, at St. Christine Church, with Msgr. Rhodes presiding. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley. The family would like to thank Georgianne, Jim, Liz, and the many members of Hospice for their compassionate and loving care.
