Dennis G. Katsaras, 85 POLAND ­ Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday morning at the Bethel Evangelical Friends Church of Poland, with Pastor Bobby Murphy and Pastor William Rotar officiating, for Dennis G. Katsaras, 85, who suddenly went home to be with his Lord on Saturday morning in his home. Dennis was born May 21, 1930, in Youngstown, the son of George and Sylvia Kontos Katsaras. He was a 1948 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School, where he was the class president, a 1957 graduate of Youngstown State University (Youngstown College) and served his country with the U.S. Army in the Korean War. Dennis was a member of the church, where he was a reader, a board member of the Youngstown/Warren Christian Couples Club and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3538. Mr. Katsaras was a retired teacher and track coach from Campbell Memorial High School, and finance manager for his wife at the Judy Conti Dance Studios. He was a 2008 High School Athletics Hall of Fame inductee, and enjoyed dancing, fishing, bowling, sports and cars. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, the former Judy Conti, whom he married Dec. 29, 1962; a daughter, Kim Katsaras of Los Angeles; a son, Scott Katsaras of Miami; one sister, Katherine Katsaras of Campbell; and his lifelong circle of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Stanley and Pete Katsaras. The family requests that monetary donations be made to The Rich Center for Autism in Dennis¹s name. The Katsaras family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell and will receive family and friends on Monday evening from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and again on Tuesday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Bethel Friends Evangelical Church of Poland.
