David Robert Shaffer, 75 CAMPBELL – Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Wasko Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. Lucy Catholic Church for, David Robert Shaffer, 75, who passed away early Thursday morning, Aug. 27. David was born Oct. 2, 1939, in Youngstown, the son of Burton and Florence Caggiano McLaughlin. He was a 1957 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and went on to service his country in the U.S. Army. David was employed and retired from LTV Steel. He was a member of the church, the Campbell Boosters for all Campbell Athletics, an avid Campbell Memorial High School Sports fan, and loved to golf. He leaves to cherish his memory, his sister-in-law, Rita Anne Shaffer of Campbell; a sister, JoNell Masse of Lewiston, Maine; brother Buddy McLaughlin of Coitsville; five nephews; two nieces; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Florence and Burton McLaughlin; and a brother, Fred. The Shaffer family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m.
