A prayer service will be held at 9:30 AM on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at the Kubina Yuhasz Wasko Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Stanislaus Church, celebrated by Father Edward Neroda for David Gasior, 63, who passed away peacefully at his home on September 30, 2016.
David was born August 19, 1953 in Youngstown, a son of the late Stephen and Josephine Joan Kaminski Gasior. He was a proud member of the United States Air Force, having served during the Vietnam War.
David was a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Stanislaus Church, where he ushered almost every week. He was a simple family man who was good, dependable, and loving to all who knew him. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. He truly was a "one of kind man" who will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his beloved companion and caretaker, Constance Collins, his children, Starr Gasior and Josiah Gasior, both of Las Vegas, Azzerde Gasior and Jules Gasior, both of Austintown, step-children, Nancy, Stella, and Robert, many grandchildren, his brothers Joseph (Buffy) Gasior of Youngstown and Victor (Judy) Gasior of Lisbon, his sister, Nancy Eichelberger of Youngstown, and brothers-in-law, James (Anabel) Collins of Poland and Charles "Buddy" Weisensee of Youngstown, and many nieces and nephews.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, David Gasior, and a sister, Veronica Weisensee.
The family has entrusted the care of David to the Kubina Yuhasz Wasko Funeral Home where they will receive friends on Thursday morning from 8:30 AM until 9:30 AM.
The family would like to express their sincerest appreciate to Kim and the staff of Hospice of the Valley for their compassionate care of David in his time of need.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that material contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Northeast Ohio Chapter, 525 N. Broad Street, Canfield, OH 44406, or to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Boardman, OH 44512 in David's honor.
