Obituary

Youngstown: Funeral services will be held 10:15am Monday at the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell and 11am in Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Youngstown, for Clara G. Berdis, 93 who passed away Friday morning in the Hospice House. Clara was born May 9, 1917 in Campbell the daughter of Stephen and Sophia Galik Wasko, she grew up in Campbell and lived all her married life on the West Side of Youngstown. She was a member of the church, its Ladies Guild, Altar and Rosary Society and Young at Heart. Besides being a homemaker she was a waitress at the Famous ââ?¬Å?Dog House쳌 for more than 20 years and worked at the polls during election time as a Democratic Precinct Committee Women. Her husband Steve Berdis, whom she married on July 29, 1939 in Our Lady of Hungary Church, passed away Dec. 6, 1991. She leaves to cherish her memory 5 children, Steve ââ?¬Å?Dick쳌 Berdis, Ron (Kim) Berdis, Elaine (Louis) Venneri, Jerilynn (Jim) Baumgarten and Janet Thompson; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 5 step great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson and 1 great-great step grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 3 brothers, Edward, Thomas and James; a sister Ceceila Timcisko and a granddaughter Heather Berdis. The Berdis family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends Sunday from 4-7pm.
