Obituary

A Panachida service will be held Monday at 12:00 p.m. at the Wasko Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. at St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, with Rev. Kevin Marks officiating, for Charles Horvath who passed away Wednesday at the Louis Stokes VA Medical Center in Cleveland.

Charles was born May 11, 1924, in Campbell, the son of John and Susan Backus Horvath.

Following his graduation from Campbell Memorial High School, Charles earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Kent State University.

Charles served in the US Navy during WWII and then retired as a school teacher following many years of service.

His wife, the former Virginia Kotasek, whom he married January 8, 1949; passed away August 23, 1992.

He is survived by his d aughters, Mrs. JoAnne Snyder (Don) of Warren, Mrs. Janice Kowalski (John) of Quakertown, PA, Mrs. Carol Crosley (Clark) of Naperville Illinois, and Mrs. Laurie Buxa (Harry) of Mantua; his brothers, Edward Horvath and Paul Horvath; ten grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Besides his wife, Virginia, Charles was preceded in death by his brothers John Horvath, Rev. Myron Horvath, and Larry Horvath; and his sisters Anne Borish, Helen Poghen, and Mary Goff.

The Horvath family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Monday from 10-12:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
