Obituary

Struthers: Prayers will begin Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Wasko Funeral Home followed by a mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church for Bonita E. Chambers, 61, who died Tuesday April 3rd at St. Elizabeth Medical Center after a courageous battle with multiple myeloma. Bonnie was born October 15, 1950, the daughter of Harold & Josephine Bozichovich Standorf. She was a graduate of Campbell Memorial High School class of 1968. Bonnie was a homemaker who opened her arms and her heart to all who entered. She was a member of the St. John the Baptist parish. She was also one of the founders of the ââ?¬Å?Regent Street Knights쳌 whose members she will always hold close to her heart. Bonnie will always be remembered for her selflessness and unconditional love that she showed to all she met. Her illness was known only by the physical impacts and not by indulging in self pity or complaining. Her outlook on life was positive and bright. She wore a smile on her darkest days knowing that there was always someone who bore more pain and suffering than herself. Her philosophy in life was that she could handle anything life threw at her and that no matter what God would take care of her. She is survived by her husband, Michael R. Chambers, whom she married May 6th 1972; her daughter Amy & Joe Carrier of Austintown and her son Rob & Melissa Chambers of Poland. Bonnie leaves to cherish her memory the joys of her life her beautiful grandchildren Joseph 16, Gianna 12, Maggie 9, Michael 6, and Grace 4. They have been her life line the past 9 years as she has battled her multiple myeloma. She is survived by her brother Harold & Pat Standorf , her brother in-laws Daniel & Maryann Chambers, Daniel Duncan, sister in-laws Joann & Ray Monson, Noreen Chambers, and Judy & Don Pero, cousins Terry, Andy, Miguel, & Teresa Sanchez & Godson Robert Sanchez as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; in-laws Ann and Robert Chambers and a sister in-law Karen Duncan. The family would also like to thank their friends and family for their unending support during her illness. The love and kindness that they showed her was unconditional and got her through her toughest times. Bonnie?¢s family also extends their thanks to Dr. Knight of the Hope Center and his staff who have been extended family to both her and Mike over the length of her illness. They cared for her with kindness, compassion and dignity. A special thanks to the trauma staff at St. Elizabeth Medical Center for bringing comfort to her and her family during her last days with us. The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to either the International Myeloma Foundation or the Hope Center in Bonnie?¢s memory. Friends and family may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Wasko Funeral Home, Campbell
