Obituary

Campbell: Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am at the Wasko Funeral Home with Pastor Jose Cruz officiating for Aurea Carrion, 75 of Campbell who passed away Thursday morning. Aurea was born August 20, 1936 in Gurabo, Puerto Rico, the daughter of Jose and Maria Candelaria Cuevas. Aurea was a member and founder of the First Spanish Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed traveling, cooking, baking and attending church. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She leaves to cherish her memory her four children; Zoraida (Jose) Santiago of Campbell, Jose (Stephanie) Carrion of Damascus, Rosa (David) Berrios of Campbell and Carmen Carrion of Campbell and one brother Carlos Candelaria of Campbell. She also leaves seven grandchildren, Desiree, Manuel, Marco, Alexis, Chandler, Isaiah, and Jacob. Aurea was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Victor Manuel Carrion whom she married on January 12, 1955 and who passed away on December 8, 2007; and a brother Jose Cuevas. The Carrion Family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service being held at 7:30 p.m.
