Michael Swierz officiating for Anthony D. ââ?¬Å?Nap쳌 Valerio, 75 who passed away Friday morning. Tony was born May 29, 1935 in Campbell the son of Ralph Sr. and Jennie Monaco Valerio and was a life long Campbell resident. He was a 1952 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School, an Air Force Veteran, photography enthusiast, member of the Gridiron club and an avid sports fan. After 36 years, Tony retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1990 as the Assistant Post Master at numerous area branches. He later went on to work for Modern Builder Supply and was also a professional driver, delivering cars for Youngstown Buick. Tony?¢s love of cars began drag racing his numerous modified street rods in the early 1960?¢s with Val Bros. Racing. He continued this interest later in life rebuilding the prized black ?¢57 Chevy Bel-Air which could be found on clear summer nights at various car cruises around town. Tony would also be seen in his ?¢72 Chevelle when he wanted to rev things up a bit, both a part of the Clutch Buster Car Club. He married Elaine Bond of Campbell and in August of 2010, the couple celebrated 50 golden years of marriage. He will also be truly missed by his loving and adorable daughters Linda Price-Appelwick, son-in-law Robert Appelwick of Texas and daughter Melanie Valerio (Olympic Gold Medal Swimmer) of California. His best buddy, grandson Matthew V. Price was his pride and greatest joy. Matthew was Tony?¢s number one love in life which he asked about everyday. Tony leaves a sister Mary (Steve) Sefner and a brother Ralph Jr. (Marlene) Valerio as well as numerous nieces and nephews that adored him equal to his love for them. He is preceded in death by his father, mother and two dogs Benson and Gunner. His family and numerous friends hold onto memories of a precious lifetime filled with Tony?¢s guaranteed smile, laughter, humor and love to everyone. He will never be forgotten. The Valerio family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends Tuesday evening from 4-7pm.
