Anthony A. Leskavansky, 81
Poland…………..Funeral services will be held at 10am Saturday morning at Our Lady of Sorrow Parish at St. Matthias Catholic Church, with Rev. John Jerek officiating for, Anthony A. Leskavansky, 81, who passed away peacefully Tuesday morning. Anthony was born Sept. 7, 1935 in Youngstown, the son of Stephan and Susan Younger Leskovyansky. He went to St. Matthias grade school, was a 1953 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and attended Youngstown State University. Anthony served our nation in the United States Army and worked for various companies, retiring from National Data Corporation in Atlanta, Georgia. He returned to the Youngstown area in 2014. He was a member of Branch 731 of the First Catholic Slovak Union of the United States and Canada where he served as an Auditor. Anthony was a man who truly enriched everyone's life of which he was a part. Just knowing or spending time with Anthony was a rewarding experience. He had a tremendous devotion to others and his faith, and regularly served at soup kitchens and numerous church missions. Sports and following his favorite teams were a passion in his life. He proudly sported his YSU apparel all over the world. Always an avid traveler, he maintained friendships all over the world from his journeys. He leaves to cherish his memory his sister, Millie Leskovyansky; nephews, John J. Jr., Paul, and Mark Leskovyansky; nieces, Susan Freeman and Diane Vettori; cousins; and numerous friends in Atlanta, Greenville and Fort Lauderdale. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Hon. John J. Leskovyansky and Stephen (Whitey) Leskovyansky; and a sister, Mary Ann Vettori. The Leskavansky family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends from 9:30 to 10am Saturday morning in St. Matthias Church.
