Obituary

Polamd: Prayer services will be held 9:30am Thursday at the Wasko Funeral Home, and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. Joseph the Provider Church in Campbell, for Anthony D. Cannella, Sr., 59, who passed away Sunday morning. Anthony was born March 1, 1953 in Youngstown, the son of the late Anthony G. and Irma Rose Rouzzo Cannella. He was a 1971 graduate of Lowellville High School where he played football and was all-state for the basketball team; he also attended YSU. Anthony enjoyed golfing, classic cars, his two sheep dogs, and was a coach and past President and Vice President of the Boardman Youth Baseball League. He was a manager at Thomas Strip Steel in Warren and most recently a manager at Worthington Steel in Cleveland. He was loved by everyone he met; he loved his family, especially his boys. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, the former Carol Snitzer, whom he married Aug. 23, 1975 and two sons, Anthony D. Jr. and Jonathan D. Cannella; mother-in-law, Agnes Snitzer; brother-in-laws, Joseph (Laura) Snitzer, Dr. Robert (Julie) Snitzer and Dr. Michael (Shelley) Snitzer; sister-in-law, Ann Marie Snitzer; and five nieces and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Joseph P. Cannella; and his nephew and godson, Joey Snitzer. The Cannella family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends on Wednesday from 5-8pm.
