Biography
Boardman…Funeral services will be held Wednesday at noon at the Wasko Funeral Home, and at 12:30 p.m. at St. Angela Merici Parish, officiated by Father Kevin Peters, for Anne G. Lovati, 92, of Boardman, who passed away Friday evening at Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Center in Boardman.
Mrs. Lovati was born February 11, 1921, in Jersey City, New Jersey, the daughter of Michael and Mary Halaj Vodhanel and came to this area as a child.
Besides being a fabulous homemaker, she was a cook for several years at the Italian Restaurant in downtown Youngstown.
She was an active member of the former Sacred Heart Church, known now as St. Angela Merici Parish. Mrs. Lovati was a member of the Church's Ladies Guild and enjoyed the time she spent with her friends at their card club.
She was a wonderful baker, known for her kolachi and cookies, which she shared with all her family and friends.
Mrs. Lovati was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, and she also enjoyed the time she spent with everyone.
Her husband, Richard E. Lovati, whom she married September 14, 1940, passed away on December 20, 1981.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her three children, Geri A. (Joseph) Marion of Boardman, with whom she made her home, Emil R. Lovati of Long Beach, California, and Della A. (Richard) Plesac of Campbell; grandchildren, Richard (Susan) Plesac, Joe (Morelia) Lovati, Joseph Marion, John Plesac, James (Erin) Marion, Russell Plesac, Kelly Lovati and Mishell Lovati; and her great-grandchildren, Hannah, Mallory, Lila, Anna, Pablo, Ruth, Grant, Dillon, McKenna and Shane. She also leaves a sister, Elizabeth Lofaro of Boardman; and brothers, Michael Vodhanel of Austintown and Edward (Gerry) Vodhanel of Campbell.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, John and Steve Vodhanel.
The Lovati family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends Wednesday from 10-12:00 p.m. at the Wasko Funeral Home.
