Ann D. Kornas
Campbell…Prayers will be held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at the Wasko Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for Ann D. Kornas, who passed away Thursday morning.
Ann was born in Campbell, the daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth Bodnar Vilag.
She was a graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and a lifelong area resident.
Ann worked at Isaly Dairy in Campbell and General Fireproofing, working on plane parts during the war. She also worked at Stambaugh Thompson's.
She was a parishioner of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and was a member of St. Elizabeth Crochet Group.
Ann was proud of her Slovak heritage, loved spending time gardening and pulling weeds, enjoyed working crosswords puzzles, reading and collecting stamps.
Ann leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter Marilyn Mohr of Youngstown; her son, Fred Kornas of Campbell and her granddaughter, Jennifer Mohr of Youngstown.
Her husband, Augustine "Gus" Kornas, whom she married June 28, 1949, passed away in January 26, 1968.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gus; her brother, John Vilag; and her sister, Mary Onuschak.
The family would like to especially thank the staff of Woodland Assisted Living for the compassionate care they gave to Ann.
The Kornas family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Monday from 5-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
