Ann R. Katula, 102
Campbell………A Panachida service will be held 11:30am Wednesday at the Wasko Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12pm at St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, with Fr. Kevin Marks officiating, for Ann R. Katula, 102, who passed away Saturday morning in her home.
Ann was born Jan. 27, 1912 in Youngstown, the daughter of Imbro and Mary Milcic Solic.
She attended Campbell City Schools and then went to Youngstown Business College and Cosmetology School.
Besides being a homemaker, Ann was a self-employed Cosmetologist retiring after 20 years of service.
Ann was a member of the church and it's Infant Jesus of Prague Guild. She was also a member of the Friends of The Library, Campbell Branch.
Her husband, Michael J. Katula, whom she married Sept. 26, 1931 in Sts. Peter and Paul Croatian Catholic Church, passed away, Aug. 12, 1981.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Carol (Michael) Carney, Florence (Dr. John) Galida, Michael, Jr. (Marian) Katula, and Gloria Katula, with whom she made her home, all of Campbell; a sister-in-law, Becky Solic of Warren; 12 grandchildren, Thomas (Karen) Carney, Atty. Mary Jo (Rick Ivas) Carney, Kathy (Atty. Nick) Skoufatos, Kevin (Suzanne) Carney, Michael (Susan) Carney, Carol Lopez, Gale (Blanding) Ross, Lynn Lattimer, Joan Livosky Fuller, Michael III (Theresa) Katula, Christine (Nick) Popa and Michelle (Douglas) Goclano; 30 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren, with a 5th due in July; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Michael; three brothers, Steve, Harry and Tom Solic; one sister, Mildred Leombruno; and one sister and two brothers as infants.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Kathy Cuthbertson for all her help in caring for Ann.
The Katula family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends on Wednesday morning from 10:30 to 11:30am.
