Andrew G. Ihnat, 69 Campbell…A Panachida service will be held Saturday at Noon at the Wasko Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:30 p.m. at St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church for Andrew G. Ihnat, 69, who passed away early Sunday morning. Andrew was born July 31, 1944, in Campbell, the son of Andrew and Mary Kukura Ihnat. He was a 1962 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School. Andrew went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from Youngstown State University and a Masters Degree from Kent State University. Andrew was a teacher and supervisor at Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, retiring in 2001. He was a member of St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church and G.C.U. Andrew's strong values, beliefs, humility and love of his family, extended family and friends were evident in all the lives he touched. Andrew leaves to cherish his memory, his brothers, Joseph (Josephine) of Painesville, Nicholas (Agnes) of Richmond Heights and John (Adele) of Poland; his fiancé and best friend, Itha Riesen of Poland; his sister-in-law, Mary Ann of Palm Harbor, Fla.; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Edward Ihnat. The Ihnat family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends Saturday morning from 9-12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
