Obituary

Campbell: Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church with Father Costas Valantasis officiating for Anastasia Stratis, 86, who passed away early Saturday morning. Anastasia was born Nov. 9, 1925, in Rhodes, Greece, the daughter of Michael and Vasilia Salaounis Hazistamatakis. She was an active member of the Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church, where she served with great passion and dedication. She loved her community. Anastasia enjoyed baking and cooking. She loved her grandchildren dearly and they loved their yia yia in return. She was a very positive influence in the lives of all her family members. Anastasia was very strong in her faith and traditions and passed this on to her children and her grandchildren. She will always be remembered and loved. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Dimitrios ââ?¬Å?Jimmy쳌 (Patricia) Stratis of Canfield and Maria (Theodoros) Hondrogianos of Greece; five grandchildren, George (Adriana), Anthony (Krisa) Hondrogianos of Athens, Greece, Anthony, Anastasia, and Maria Stratis of Canfield; and two great-grandchildren; a sister, Marianthi Papanicolaou in Rhodes, Greece; and many nieces and nephews in Rhodes, Australia and Campbell. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Antonios Stratis, whom she married in 1949, and who passed away in December of 1985; and her brother, Manuel Hazistamatakis. The Stratis Family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and again Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10 a.m. at the church.
